Circular process
We combine the production of new pallets with the upgrading of used ones. This circular approach reduces not only our ecological footprint, but also ensures that raw materials are used to the maximum. We do not even have any timber waste: all wood residues are processed into OSB boards or pallet blocks that are used in our production again.
Sustainable in every detail
At Paletten Roels, sustainability and circularity are not an afterthought but, rather, a fundamental choice. Every step in our production process has been thought through, with respect for people, materials and the environment.
We work solely with 100% PEFC and FSC-certified timber and in accordance with EUDR legislation. This ensures that all our timber comes from sustainably managed forests, with a focus on biodiversity and social responsibility.
In order to comply with international export rules, we treat all our packaging timber – such as pallets, pallet collars and crates – in accordance with the ISPM 15 standard. The timber is heated for at least 30 minutes to a core temperature of 57°C. Each pallet has an official stamp affixed with our recognised approval number: WOOD.BE-1713/ISPM15- BE105598. This allows our customers to transport quickly and safely all over the world.
Our efforts do not go unnoticed. Palettes Roels has been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis, a renowned international platform that assesses companies in terms of sustainability.
With a score of 71/100, we are among the top 15% of sustainable companies worldwide – a particularly strong performance for an SME.
Pallets Roels is also an authorised collector for Valipac; our OVAM number is 115241.

We also make conscious choices in the area of energy consumption and transport. For example, Paletten Roels operates with 100% Belgian wind energy, thanks to our cooperation with Wase Wind.
Timber and chip blocks are increasingly transported by boat instead of trucks – a more environmentally friendly alternative.
In addition, we are fully committed to electrically powered forklifts where possible.
